Abstract


Joint officer, a new category proposed by the U.S. military officers in the recent 30 years with respect to U.S. military officer. With the continuous development of information technology and the deep transformation of U.S. army, joint officer is playing an increasingly important role. Nowadays Joint officer training which has developed a special system framework and content for US Military gains more attention of the top U.S. Military.U.S. joint officer training systems mainly include joint professional military education system, joint duty assignment system and joint qualification system. Among them, the joint professional military education is the main way to train joint professional officers, and joint duty assignment and joint qualification are the auxiliary conditions for training joint officers.U.S. joint officer training systems mainly have six characteristics: sound regulations and detailed rules; scientific training system and rigor design; clear training goals and satisfaction of demands; leading, innovational and practical training philosophy and ideas; a diversity of training ways and integration of learning and practice.On the basis of thoroughly studying the U.S. Military joint officer training system and comparing the main contradictions in PLA’s joint military talents training system, the paper will contribute to the aspects as follows: (1) Speed up the theory research and further strengthen the top level design of our joint military personnel training system; (2) Complete the policies and legal regulations and improve the legal system of the PLA’s joint military talents training system; (3) Integrate resources to build scientific and reasonable joint military talents training system; (4) Cultivate the joint culture and implement the joint consciousness throughout the joint military talents training; (5) Establish the system of evaluation to promote the continuous development and improvement of PLA’s joint military talents training system etc.This paper fills up the vacancy in the domestic research on studying the US Military joint officers training system, building up a solid theoretical foundation for further research in the field and providing the reference. Meanwhile, it also makes contribution to reference for further innovation and development of the PLA’s joint military talents training system with its own characteristics.
