Abstract


Based on the theories of aesthetics, constructivism and multi-intelligence as well as the practice of the second round of the Syllabus reform in Shanghai, this research focuses on how to get students’ potential individualistic reading capacity fully developed by studying the theories on individualistic reading and exploring the most suitable methodologies to develop individualistic reading programs in classroom teaching to meet students’ individualistic requirements.ChapterⅠthe importance of developing individual reading programs for individualsChapterⅡthe influence of aesthetics, constructivism and multi-intelligence on individualistic readingChapterⅢthe definitions of individual、individualistic reading and teaching individualistic reading as well as the features of teaching individualistic reading, such as the preparations and objects of individualistic readingChapterⅣthe methodologies of teaching individualistic readingA) arousing students’ interests by creating certain situations to experience reading and paying much attention to students’ internal differences;B) having heart-to-heart talks with students to stimulate their imagination and giving feedback to them on what they have read;C) encouraging students to read aloud、enjoy the reading materials and demonstrating their merits and not to afraid of making mistakes as one can learn from making mistakes;D) utilizing the question-and-answer method in classroom teaching and advocating teachers’ unique comments on what students have read.
