Abstract


I study the Women Union of Shan-Gan- Ning Region in the period of War of Resistance against Japan and probe into its principal work by way of applying newspapers, magazines and other written materials and combining with the theory of social organizations. Furthermore, I investigate the Women Union’s history and reveal its role which was to closely link the Chinese Communist Party with the masses so that we can have an overall cognition about it.After the War of Resistance against Japan broke out, the Chinese nation beset with crises. In order to mobilize all the powers to resist against Japan, the Chinese Communist Party promoted to found the United Front of War of Resistance against Japan in various cycles. The Chinese Communist Party and government in the region actively took an initiative to build up a women organization to unite the women to resist against Japan. Therefore, with the support of the Party and the government, the Women Union was founded and made an active role to promote the masses to resist against Japan and participate in productive movement, uphold the women’s vital interests.The Women Union of Shan-Gan- Ning Region was the United Front of War of Resistance against Japan in various women cycles. Women cadres made a backbone role in the organization. The Women Union closely connected the Chinese Communist Party with the women, safeguarded the women’s vital interests, pushed the women movement ahead deeply. I also summarize the deficiencies of the Women Union’s work and the lessons that we can learn from it, so we can use the experience of it to perfect the work of today’s Women Union.The Women Union of Shan-Gan- Ning Region in the period of War of Resistance against Japan promoted the women’s work; it has a great significance to research the history of Shan-Gan- Ning Region and the history of women movements, historically and practically.
