Abstract


Wang An-yi’s novel concept includes two basic dimensions: "matter"and"spirit". The so-called matter is the novel’s logical driving force. "Four not to be"mainly reflects the matter of the novel’s concept. And the spiritual level is mainly manifested as the construction of "spiritual world". Taking the complex external environment into account, realism and feminism are most closely related with the concept of Wang Anyi’s novel. Scaning these two major literary trends, we can more deeply understand Wang An-yi’s novel concept.
