Teacher-student ethical relationship aims to define the rights and obligations that teachers and students take as well as the roles they play in teaching , that is, the social moral values and ethical principles abided by both teachers and students, who enjoy certain moral rights as well as undertake certain obligations, such as, moral status, moral value, moral knowing, moral feeling and moral choice. Good teacher-student ethical relationship plays a significant role in the cultivation of moral character , the study improvement, the intelligence raise as well as promoting the overall development of students’ body and mind. So most higher vocational colleges lay such an emphasis on teacher-student ethical relationship that they are trying every devices to strengthen the education in teacher-student moral and the moral restraint with the aim to harmonize the teacher-student relation and improve moral cultivation. Of course, some positive results have been achieved. However, current teacher-student ethical relationship of higher vocational college still takes on deformation trend such as emotional alienation between teacher and student, utilitarian purpose underlying the communion between them. Mutual distrust, mutual non-interference and no communication lead students not to show necessary respect for their teachers, at the meanwhile teachers feel languor and lack the sacred feeling for his career. And all this will make a vicious circle. Supported by practical evidence and data from sample survey, conversaziones in five higher vocational colleges of zhuzhou and individual interviews, this article makes a deep analysis on the causes of deformation in teacher-student moral relationship, mainly including the influence of social negative ideas, the deviation in teacher-student evaluation system, the moral knowing disorder of teachers and students, the weakness of students’ moral will. If the teacher-student relation want to be out of the hot water , it should be to develop harmonious idea, creat campus culture, regulate teachers’ professional ethic, strenghen moral education to students. Only joint effort by society, college, teachers and students, the teacher-student moral relationship gradually can achieve a perfect state, which is equal, respect, fair, trust, democratic and harmonious.
