Abstract


As an important rising school of morden“Western Marxism”, Ecoloqical Marxism grew out of the western“green movement”which produced far-reaching effects in the whole world in the 1960s,which makes an attempt at finding the theory link among ecological crisis and ecological revolution it triggers and Marxism.The Canadian social critic Ben Agger is the leading finger of Ecoloqical Marxism.He formally raised the concept of“Ecoloqical Marxism”in his bookmaking: < Western Marxism:an introduction >.In this book,he systematically dissertated the major content theories about Ecoloqical Marxism .Since then the theoretical knowledge of Ecoloqical Marxism had started to be systematized.This thesis consists of five parts:Introduction,Chapter One Chapter two,Chapter Three and Chapter Four.The introduction introduces the origin, method and objective of the research,the key and innovation of study and the difficult points . This part lays stress on carding the researchful position in this aera in detail.And on the basis of study status,I try to define the concept and connotation of“Ecological Marxism”.Chapter one analysises the background and ideological origins of Ben Agger’s“Ecological Marxism”.The background principally embodies :the further exacerbation of the crisis of Capitalism in the 1960s and 1970s;the development of ecological movement and green politics in capitalism;the support of disciplinary background of ecology,system theory,futurology.The ideological origins principally embodies:the ideology of the relationship between man and nature of Marx;the ecology criticism of capitalism of Marcuse;the perspective of Leiss’“Ecological Marxism”.Chapter two introduces Ben Agger’s crisis theory of the capitalism.Through the re-read of Marx’s core ideology ,Ben Agger use the theory of ecological crisis substitutes of Marx’s theory of economic crisis.The cause of ecological crisis consists two aspects:the root cause of ecological crisis is the capitalise system,the direct cause of ecological crisis is Alienation On Consumption.The realization of socialist transformation via the propulsion that dialectics of shattered expectation causes,thereby eliminates ecological crisis,which is Ben Agger advocates.Chapter three discusses Ben Agger’s scheme and approach of Ecological Socialism.The idea of Ecological Socialism consists of three aspects:the economic of Ecological Socialism is steady-state economic model;the technology of Ecological Socialism is decentralized,de-bureaucracied and small-scale;the politics of Ecological Socialism is to realize of workers’management and grass-roots democracy. The approach of Ecological Socialism is to integrate the Ecological Marxism and America’s populism together.It consists of two aspects:the necessity of combination of Ecological Marxism and America’s populism;the specific methods of combination of Ecological Marxism and America’s populism.Chapter four is the evaluation of Ben Agger’s Ecological Marxism.It consists of two aspects:the theoretical examination of Ben Agger’s Ecological Marxism;the practical significance of Ben Agger’s Ecological Marxism.The former consists of the theoretical value and the theoretical defects;the latter consists of the enlightened significance of Ben Agger’s Ecological Marxism towards to the Socialism’s material civilization,spirited civilization,political civilization’s construction.
