Spiranthes sinensis(Pers) Ames clasified as Spiranthes(Orchidaceae). Its root or whole grass have been used for deficiency of both qi and yin, vertigo, insomnia, emission, scald,et al.Especially there is report about its ability for anti-tumor and anti-diabetes,which is very attractive.49 strains endophytic fungi were isolated from Spiranthes sinensis(Pers) Ames, contained 17 strains isolated from the roots,14 strains isolated from the stems,18 strains isolated from the leaves.37 strains identified as eight generas:Ramularia,Penicillium, Aspergillus,Cercosporella,Cladosporium,Helminthosporium,Altemaria and Fusarium. While other 12 strains were identified as Agonomycetales. The result showed that the species and quantity of the endophytic fungi varied in different tissues of the same plant. We selected nine strains which have the same or the similar chemical constituents with their host by the detected of HPLC,and identified them by sequencing their ITS.The result show that:the SS-S4 strain is Alternaria alternata, the SS-S8 strain is Aspergillus versicolor, the SS-S12 strain is Cladosporium dados porioides, the SS-R6 strain is Fusarium lateritium, the SS-L6 strain and the SS-L8 strain are both Altemaria alternata, the SS-S1 strain is Gibberella avenacea or Fusarium tricinctum, the SS-S10 strain is Emericella rugulosa or Emericella nidulans, and the SS-R3 strain is Fusarium sp..By analysising the relationship among the chemical components of the fungi and their host,we found that:the relationship among the petroleum ether extracts of the fungi and their host is not obvious;there is a little tissue and species specificity among the water-saturated n-butanol extracts of some fungi;and the tissue specificity among the ethyl scetate extracts of the fungi is the most obvious. The result of the chemical components analysising provides indirect evidence for the "endosymbiosis theory".The results of these studies can offer the theoretic and the practical guide to develop the resources of the endophytic fungi isolated from Spiranthes sinensis(Pers) Ames, and provides a new way in the field of developing natural medicine.
