Abstract


Liszt ,the greatest pianist and the important and influential composer in 19th century, devotes all his life in music with a huge and diverse body of work left behind. As a prolific and creative composor, he wrote numerous pieces of program music. Examples for the first class are concert etude with Liszt’s personal excellent style, such as the piece "12 Transcendental Etudes", "Six Transcendental Etudes after Paganini", "Three Concert Etudes" and "Two Concert Etudes". These etudes are famous by the profound technology and the distinct musical image. Besides the plentiful Liszt’s innovative and complicated technology, the ingenious combination of art and techniques in those etudes is a miracle.This article attempts to understand and to annotate the "Two Concert Etudes" through comparing and studying the work, the style as well as the different acoustic edition. There are four chapters in this article.The first chapter takes the literature reference as the research resource to figure out the background for the concert etude and the introduction.The second chapter focuses on musical form, melody, modulation, rhythm, style, speed and strength in order to explore these concert etudes.The third chapter part for from the aspect summaries specifically for this two concert etudes style characteristic such as distinct title , peculiar musical form structure , changeful tonality , rich harmony.In the end, the fourth chapter not only introduces the analysis for each kind of performance edition through choosing the appropriate sound edition, which helps the learners to understand the work profoundly, but also proposes my experience in practicing the work.
