Street music is a common phenomenon which has a long histroy .But there is no researcher do any deep research on it. This thesis is a deep research on the street music from the stand of sociology of music, music communication and ethnomusicology etc.Because of the interaction between eastern and western cultures, street music in beijing has been a significant social and cultural phenomenon. Since there is still some kinds of misunderstands and prejudices from the mass, music experts and the government, the writer did a research on the street music’s history, definiens, characteristic and significance, beside of an investigation on the location and type of the street music in beijing, the writer do this research from four aspects as follow:First, research on a set of representative types of the street music in beijing, and the interaction between the street music and internet.Second, research on the street music in beijing from the stand of liumang,include the street musician’s ID crisis, liumang text, liumang spirit etc.Third, research on the mass appraisal of street music in beijing, which based on hundreds of questionaries and followed by an analyse of the reason of the appraisal.Last, research on the policy of the street music in beijing,the other countries and the other cities in china, then offer some political advices about street music to the government in beijing.
