Abstract

In this paper, pragmatics cooperative principle and its four criteria to explore humor and humor translation . Grice's Cooperative Principle is the American scholar first proposed for both sides of communication specification language verbal communication behavior principle. Grice believes that communication the two sides should cooperate with each other to provide true, adequate , concise and relevant information with the conversation in order to ensure smooth communication . This principle also contains four criteria, namely the amount of standards, quality standards, norms and style guidelines, which clearly stipulates that people should say what in the conversation , and said how much to say. Only by following the principles of cooperation and its guidelines in order to achieve the most effective communicative effects ; breach or contempt of their conversation will lead to the generation of meaning , making it difficult to understand and hinder communication proceed. In order to produce humorous effects , humorous discourse often deliberately violate the principles of cooperation in certain criteria, humor is often called uncooperative communicative acts . However, in humorous discourse , people deliberately violate the guidelines usually implies some purpose , such as through its unusual verbal behavior to each other suggests they are hidden in the true meaning behind the words . Furthermore , people expressed during humor , mostly an effect rather than for the manufacture of transmission of information , therefore , humorous discourse often deliberately violate a ridiculous way to produce guidelines to obtain exaggerated humor , satire, funny, self-deprecating and other effects. Notes, in humor translation , humorous effect to achieve more than the delivery of information , therefore, should comply with the principles of communication as a prerequisite for the use of any mechanical copying only lent shape and harm its meaning . This paper attempts to analyze humor discourse violations of the Code to start, derived words the real purpose behind the speaker , as well as the language humorous effects arising out of acts . Meanwhile, in the translation by retaining the form of the source language in the discourse , that deliberately violate the principles of communication to reproduce the source language humorous effects .
