Abstract


The research on the Chinese dialect characters belongs to the cross-research of Chinese character study and dialectology.The current academic research articles could be found in the various types of academic journals on dialectology and linguistics.Those articles are mainly about the Chinese dialect characters of the specific dialect area or some theoretical studies on the ontology of Chinese dialect characters.The study comes into people’s outlook gradually,including the definition, the nature,the classification,the sources of the Chinese dialect characters and so on. <YUEYAN越谚> is a specific book,written by FANYIN(范寅) in Qing Dynasty. It keeps many useful materials of Chinese dialect characters and the local proverbs of YUE area.In this paper,in succession to the results of previous studies,the concepts of Chinese dialect-record characters,the Chinese dialect characters,the Chinese dialect local characters,the Chinese dialect original characters,the Chinese dialect homonym characters are going to be clarified.Through the quantitative analysis and qualitative research on the Chinese dialect characters in <YUEYAN越谚>,static structure and dynamics of the formation and evolution of those characters will be explained.In this paper,the traditional theory of the six ways of creating characters is used to analyses the Chinese dialect characters.The most innovative point in this paper is the use of etymology research methods and three different research angles on the Chinese dialect characters.In general,the Chinese dialect characters is commonly used Chinese characters as an important complement to the system,for play a very important role in recording Chinese dialect,should be carried out the in-depth study and the use should be regulated.
