Abstract

In the past decade, the synthesis of noble metal nanostructures has been researched actively because of the importance of these materials to catalysis, electronics, photonics, information storage, optoelectronics, biological labeling, imaging, and sensing. Novel metal nanoparticles have attracted tremendous attention due to their unique optical property for surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and many potential applications. Hollow nanostructures have high scattering coefficient and controllable resonant frequency by changing the size of nuclear and shell thickness. In this thesis, hollow Ag nanoarrays with different sizes were synthesized on the surface of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) and Au film by electrochemical method combined with galavnic replacement. The localized surface plasmon resonance effect (L-SPR) and surface plasmon resonance effect (SPR) of hollow Ag nanoarrays were studied, which provided a theoretical guidance for the application of hollow nanoarrays on the qualitative and quantitative SPR techniques. The results included:1. Cu nanoarray was electrodeposited on the HOPG surface and acted as the start template to obtain hollow Ag nanoarray by galavnic replacement. Hollow Ag nanostructure was characterized by AFM and SEM-EDS.2. Hollow Ag nanoarray was fabricated on Au surface using the same method. SERS response of the nanoarray was researched using pyridine as the probing molecule. The results showed that peak intensity of pyridine on the hollow Ag nanoarray was enhanced three times as that on gold and silver film. It confirmed that hollow Ag nanoarray has strong L-SPR effect.3. The L-SPR and SPR properties of hollow Ag nanoaray were investigated by theoretical calculation and software simulation. The results showed that the L-SPR property of hollow Ag nanoarray could be tested using UV-visible spectrum. And the relationship between solution refractive index and absorption spectrum of hollow Ag nanoarray with fixed inner and external diameter was quantitatively established. A great SPR response could be obtained on hollow Ag nanoarray of 20 nm inner diameter and separated with the signal on Au film, which indicated a potential application of hollow Ag nanoarray on Au film for simultaneous in-situ two-component SPR sensitive detection.
