Abstract


China’s correspondence has longtime history.Ancient postal office had been existed more than 3000 years and the postal office operated by citizens are with history of more than 500 years.The post office in modern history has existed about more than 100 years. As the country’s important communication organization and one of the infrastructure departments in modern society,it has very close relations with people’s living. "Intercourse of all letters and correspondences,silver and currency exchange,delivery of books and newspapers,all have to rely on it as the key channel".Postal service is playing a vital role in maintaining the country’s unification and national unity,in promoting economy,civilization,science,business thriving as well as society’s progress This article takes Tianjin postal service origination and developments from 1878 to 1928 as the investigation object to elaborate Tianjin postal service developing process in details during this period by combining the theories and methods of history,postal,statistics and the other related theories and methods.This article has five chapters,the first chapter is mainly to demonstrate the background of Tianjin postal service’s origination in modern history;The second chapter has discussed the changes of Tianjin Postal bureau and construction of postal channels before Qing Postal founded.The third chapter has discussed the development of Tianjin postal service after Qing Postal setting up,including the branch organization,sub-bureau construction,business developments.The fourth chapter is mainly to describe the development of Tianjin postal during the ruling of BeiYang government.The final chapter has discussed the cause of Tianjin postal service development and its effect.Tianjin modern postal service’s establishment are in accordance with the external requirements for communication development from citizens and society,and indicate China communications industry beginning to enter modern postal developing times.The establishment of modern Tianjin postal service has took great convenience to public living,and provided a basis for country postal foundation.
