Abstract


Chinese traditional intellectuals’gardens, used for recreation and touring ,are built by ancient Chinese scholar-bureaucrats. As the representative of Chinese Classical Gardens, Chinese traditional intellectuals’gardens represent the fundamental character of culture of Chinese Classical Gardens, and disseminate the spirit and culture of Chinese scholar-bureaucrats. At the same time, it is the representation of the social ideality, the personality value, the life content and the aesthetic sentiment of Chinese scholar-bureaucrats.The thesis discusses the dissemination mechanism of Chinese traditional intellectuals’gardens from the angle of communication study. It doesn’t focus on the traditional function and form, but consider Gardens as a media and consider Gardening as Dissemination activities which connect disseminator and audience. It focuses on the relationship of disseminator, media and audience, and also focus on the feelings of ordinary people to Gardens and influence of Gardens to people.First of all, the thesis demonstrates the media characteristic of Gardens and considers Gardens, which have weak correlation with media, in accordance with the basic elements of mass media. Distinguished with the strict mass media of the mass media industry, it is defined as“similar mass media”.Secondly, the thesis discusses the dissemination elements: dissemination contents, disseminator and audience, and also demonstrates the significance of culture communication of Chinese traditional intellectuals’gardens.The last but not the least, for we need to focus on the communication of media and audience, the thesis analyzes the media system of audience for Gardens from three aspects: Basic environment, urban environment and mimicry environment.
