Abstract


Large size asphalt mixture to prevent reflective cracking and resistance to rutting , mainly as the grassroots use of the pavement structure . Less for large size asphalt mix as the lower layer of the pavement structure . In this paper, the research results at home and abroad on the basis of large size asphalt mixture road performance and mechanical properties were compared. Dense graded Asphalt gravel ATB - 25 ATB -30 open-graded gravel ATPB large bitumen -25 ATPB - 30 respectively with the design , the first reference to domestic and foreign aggregate gradation specification with the change I combined aggregate gradation determined experiments , for dense graded directly with large Marshall test to determine the optimum asphalt content . For open-graded , the first of an initial amount of asphalt asphalt film thickness , leakage test and Marshall test comprehensive analysis to determine the optimum asphalt content . Rutting test , the overall performance of the water stable performance test , the compressive resilient modulus and splitting strength experiment , comparative evaluation of two large bitumen gravel and asphalt mixture selected , select a best performance large size asphalt gravel layer in the form below . Combined with the requirements of construction and asphalt mixture thickness with maximum nominal particle size between Bisar program calculated under the same conditions of temperature , with the the ATB following thickness change , the change of the stress-strain characteristics of the asphalt pavement structure , determined comprehensively ATB -25 or ATB -30 below layers of reasonable thickness .
