Abstract


Holding thousands of years’development history, Chinese fresco art is estensive and profound. So is Chinese traditional lacquer art. It is just on the basis of the traditional lacquer arts that lacquer-fresco paintings, combined with modern sciences, arts and crafts and materials, have developed into a unique modern craft style of fresco art, showing the perfect union of traditional lacquer art and modern fresco.Lacquer-fresco paintings originate from traditional lacquer, a distillation of modern lacquer paintings. The unique aesthetic features of the kind of paintings are winning them more and more favor. The thesis firstly makes a brief introduction of lacquer-fresco paintings and summaries current opinions to them. In this section, the thesis makes a key-point analysis of the aesthetic features of modern lacquer-fresco pantings, whose uniqueness just lies both in special materials and in the combination of lacquer and fresco arts. When inosculated with building environment, lacquer-fresco paintings can satisfy greatly those aesthetic requirements of the people. And then, the thesis delves into the avenues for development of modern lacquer-fresco paintings tn the light of the current well-recognized contradictions between manufacturability and style of painting. The thesis argues that so long as we carry forward the traditional lacquer art, combine with modern sciences and materials, and especially convert arts ideas and persist in arts exploration, lacquer-fresco paintings are sure to step with the time closely and embrace a bright future.
