Abstract


Domestic and international studies have shown that in recent years: the language and cultural context is closely linked to the cultural context of the interpretation and limit the use of the language is very important therefore to develop cultural awareness and language communication ability of college students has become China University English Teaching of the important issues. The purpose of this paper is to study the cultural context of building effective applications in today's college English classroom teaching. The author through analysis of data collected on non-English professional English culture teaching situation questionnaire and socio-cultural test scores, confirm the need to build college English teaching mode based on the cultural context, and how effectively into the cultural context to our college English classroom teaching. The author elaborated Research summary of the analysis of the domestic and international cultural context theory based on the theoretical framework suitable for the study: the situational context is the context of the specific use of language, it is a concrete manifestation of the cultural context. Claire situational context formation theory, Hymes \different situational context to the conceptual framework. Built for in-depth understanding of the current College English culture teaching status and problems of the need to explore the conceptual framework for the implementation of non-English majors in college English teaching cultural context, the author of 120 survey about students cultural awareness of the culture test. Data analysis results show that: the English teaching of non-English majors language communicative competence and cultural awareness training has been the attention and acceptance of teachers and students, but the students' cultural awareness is still weak, positive and productive culture teaching for many years study had not been truly reflected in the actual practice of college English teaching and. I believe that the main reason is due to the teachers ignored the integration of the cultural context and foreign language teaching. Therefore, to explore how cultural context to build rationally and effectively used in college English classroom teaching practice is essential. I combine the above investigation and analysis, in the situational context formation Claire Hymes theory and the theory of communicative competence and theory of context-based theoretical framework, under the guidance of an attempt to explore the cultural context based build, a student Cultivating language communicative competence as the goal of college English teaching mode. Finally, through a 18-week teaching practice and semi-structured interviews with students to verify the effectiveness of the teaching mode. The teaching model stimulate students' interest in learning, thus proving the cultural context to build into the feasibility of the college English teaching. Current study, however, there are still a number of shortcomings, there are still problems yet to be further resolve in future studies. The author aims to initiate some of the views and recommendations of the existing college English teaching to better cultural teaching and language teaching combined effectively promote college English teaching reform in China, and further enhance the development of foreign language teaching connotation.
