Abstract


Firstly, the telecommunications industry in the world is changing faster and faster after entering the 21st Century, the traditional mode of telecommunication growth is difficult to continue. Facing the dual challenges of technological advances and market demands, many telecommunication operators proposed the idea of strategic transformation, they all want to seize the opportunities for development and go out of the business difficulties through innovations. Secondly, as the level of development and innovative capability of telecommunications industry in China are very weak, and many domestic telecommunications enterprises are often in a weak position when they participate in international competition, so our government has proposed many policies to encourage them to improve their own innovative capability and competitiveness. Thirdly, from the view of the developing progress, the telecommunications industry is becoming sophisticated, complicated, and opening up, the industry is increasingly synergy. All the three reasons make the conclusion that the innovation of the telecommunications industry must rely on co-operating with each other, and use the industry platform to better enhance industrial competitiveness and level of development.With the background above, this paper uses the methods of Theoretical and empirical studies combining. On the base of innovation theory, synergetic, industry chain theory and so on, the paper discusses the contents as follows: the five elements of innovation of the telecommunications industry, the characteristics of the telecommunications industry and the synergies inherent mechanisms, the process and measures of collaborative innovation of the telecommunications industry and so on. Through in-depth study, the paper solves the problems as follows: telecommunications enterprises must pay attention to which elements of innovation, the intrinsic links between innovation and industrial synergies, the significance of collaborative innovation, how to make the measures when participating in collaborative innovation. Also, the paper gets the theoretical results of the innovation system model of the telecommunications industry, the progress model of collaborative innovation of the telecommunications industry. Finally, the paper uses the empirical research on TD-SCDMA industry collaborative innovation, to get the idea of the importance and the reality of collaborative innovation.
