Abstract


This thesis gives emphasis on the design of LXI-VXI Adapter. As a important role of a Hybrid system, a LXI-VXI Adapter makes a VXI test system accessed by a LXI test system. Its performance directly determines the performance and stability of the Hybrid system. It will contribute a lot to developing LXI technologyin China.The LXI-VXI Adapter, which should be conformed to the LXI Standard and the VXI Standard, achieve seamless connectivity between the VXI test system and the LXI test system. Therefore, the Hybrid system can have advantages both of the VXI test system and the LXI test system. On the basis of through analyzing about specifications of the LXI Standard and VXIbus Standard, investigating similar products aboard, the scheme of LXI-VXI Adapter is brought forward according to the domestic application needs.In the hardware design, there are two parts, LXI interface and VXI interface. In the LXI interface, the embedded system is adopted as the central part, and LAN interface is realized with embedded processor and an ethernet PHY transceiver. And otherwise one chip of FPGA is added for hardware realization of IEEE1588. In the VXI interface, FPGA is adopted for realization of VXI interface. In the software design aspect, embedded Linux Operating System is adopted as the platform of software of the LXI-VXI Adapter. Based on Linux OS, concurrency multi-protocol server model is adopted, which is used to develop software of LXI-VXI Adapter to realize operation of instrument, and trigger of command-based driver, direct LAN messaging and time-based events. HTML and CGI are used to realize Web interface. VISA based on Windows is developed in addition. Resource manager and VISA functions supporting LAN interface is realized too.The actual test and experimental results show that the theoretical analysis of this design is correct, the design is reasonable and every of the technical qualification is satisfied with the requirements of the design.
