Abstract


This article aims to Metaphor Interpretation from the Perspective of Relevance Theory and Metaphor Translation . According to relevance theory , metaphor is a casual conversation , understanding does not require any special mechanism , it is the natural result of the development of verbal communication in general cognitive reasoning ability , which reveals the nature of metaphor comprehension . This process and cognitive context , cognitive effort to have a very close relationship . The associated theoretical interpretation of metaphor not only expand the metaphor research also showed that: the metaphor is not only a linguistic phenomenon , or a way of thinking . Relevance Theory as a cognitive theory , but also a communicative theory ; based on relevance theory , translation can be seen as a communicative activities . Scholars Gert first to relevance theory is applied to them in translation studies , translation is a verbal communication behavior , is closely associated with the brain mechanisms that reasoning process , it is the most important dynamic reasoning is based on the dynamic context , and the reasoning of the the basis is the correlation . Understanding of the source language and the translation process as communicative translation , select the basis of the language code is relevance . Four chapters of this paper . The first chapter is the Introduction , briefly introduced the metaphor , relevance theory , poetry and framework presents the theme clues throughout the entire paper . The second chapter is a literature review is divided into two . First section from the rhetoric , interactive , cognitive and pragmatic point of view , the concept of metaphor defines , gave a brief review of the history and current situation of the domestic and international study of metaphor ; associated definitions first introduced in section II of its communicative explore the Perspective of Relevance Theory and cognitive two principles , the interpretation of metaphor , the introduction associated theory of metaphor interpretation based on justifications , through its cognitive and communicative principles metaphor specific interpretation . The third chapter in the associated theoretical framework to explore the translation of metaphor , metaphor of classical Chinese poetry as a corpus case analysis , that metaphor into metaphor simile and metaphor into two specific translation strategies . The final chapter of this paper summarizes some of the achievements of the relevant Institute , and made ??some comments and suggestions to further explore .
