Abstract


Ma Cheng city in Hubei Province is situated in the center of threemajor cities, Zhengzhou, Hefei and Wuhan, affected by the surroundingdialects, In addition , later it became an important staging area ofpopulation migration ,especially after the history of the Ming and Qingdynasty, so the dialect ownership has different explanations. It has beclassified as a Jianghuai Mandarin HUANG Xiao-chip in"Atlas of theChinese language" , and this is currently the mainstream academic view.This paper mainly takes my own mother tongue (Zhang Jiafan dialegct)as research subject and describes phonetic system . At the same time，Withthe combination of the survey on the dialects from other towns,the papermakes a the combination table of initials and finals, a homophonic table,analyzes the main phonetic features and makes a comparion amongputonghua,dialect and ancient language by using the diachronic andsynchronic method. On the base of collecting dialect vocabulary of Ma Cheng,the paper makes a vocabulary list, finding the origins of the common ancient words haveshown historical inheritance of Ma Cheng dialect. At last,briefly analyzes the threebig grammatical features.There are four chapters in my thesis. The first part is introductionwhich briefly describes the city of Macheng and the basic situation of theresearch of the Macheng dialect. It expounds the researching methods,significance and the circumstances of the partners of this thesis. Thesecond and the third part separately is accent and vocabulary . Theyemphasize the description of the accent and the vocabulary and thecompare of Mandarin, dialect and classical Chinese writing. The fourthpart analyzes the three most remarkable grammar features of Machengdialect.The fivth part is a conclusion.
