Abstract


With China’s sustained economic development and rising international status, especially after China’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and Beijing’s successfully holding Olympic Games, there has witnessed a global emergence of an upsurge of learning Chinese.In recent years, more and more people are learning Chinese language in South Korea, China’s neighboring country. There are about 300 thousand long-term Chinese language learners in addition to about 1 million short-term Chinese language learners. One of the prominent changes is that many high school students began to choose Chinese as their second foreign language. Therefore, teaching Chinese is particularly important for many high schools in South Korea.Good teaching materials can be a good foundation in studying Chinese, so the function of textbooks is important because studying Chinese and the effect of studying are depending on the quality of textbooks.It goes without saying that grammar plays a very important role in textbooks .Accordingly, it is essential to master the grammar if you want to learn a language well. Grammar is a basic frame on which the phonetics [sounds] and vocabulary systems of a language are jointed together to communicate. In addition, the effect of studying is apprarently different when the method and the order of presenting grammar vary in the text book. Therefore, if the goal of the textbook is to make study and teaching easier, an editor will have to make a lot of efforts to choose and divide grammar in textbooks properly.This thesis aims to give an introduction of research status of editing grammar items, the object and meaning of study, and presents the statistics of editing grammar itemization of high schools in South Korea, analysizes apportioning amount and order of difficulties on grammar in 6 kinds of textbooks in South Korea, and finally provides a reference for the improvement of Chinese textbooks and Chinese language teaching in South Korea.
