Abstract


Objective To observe the mandibular first molar distal root of the tongue variability in patients with moderate to severe periodontitis periodontal combined far in the base of the tongue morphology observed , compared to the normal distal root morphology , far in the base of the tongue variation of periodontal health . Methods to collect the mandibular first molar distal root of the tongue in patients with moderate to severe periodontitis 26 named 34 of the experimental group and the mandibular first molar far and in the base of the tongue in patients with moderate to severe periodontitis as a control group . Six sites in the two groups of mandibular first molar tongue side far , the center of the side of the tongue , lingual mesial , buccal mesial buccal central buccal distal probing depth , gingival recession , attachment loss measurement of root bifurcation lesions recorded on two sets of data to compare . Results . Patients with moderate to severe periodontitis in the base of the tongue have far , far tongue lateral point probing depth, attachment loss than six points probing depth , attachment loss average difference was statistically significant (P lt; 0.001). Patients with moderate to severe periodontitis in the base of the tongue in the far- the distal tongue lateral point probing depth, attachment loss than six points probing depth , attachment loss average difference was not statistically significant (P gt ; 0.05). Serious . Distal base of the tongue in patients with moderate to severe periodontitis , furcation less far in the base of the tongue in patients with moderate to severe periodontitis , the difference was statistically significant ( P lt; 0.001 ) . The base of the tongue in the conclusions of the first mandibular molars role in promoting the progress of periodontal disease .
