Abstract


Guofeng and Song of Solomon are classic lyric poetry, which represent the existence of the ancient Chinese and ancient Hebrew. This thesis attempts, according to physical theory, to analyze the figures in Guofeng and Song of Solomon from their appearance to morality and find the difference between the two.Those poems will be interpreted in following three aspects:First, the body is watched by others as a physical object. Guofeng and Song of Solomon show the beauty of flesh and, by portraying flesh, also reveal the essence of art and the truth of life in depth. But, due to national customs, aesthetic habit, cognition and so on, it is different in specific expression between Guofeng and Song of Solomon.Second, the body is as the subject of desire. Carnal desire is described in a natural way in Guofeng and Song of Solomon, but the style of description is different between the two. The former is implicit, while the latter is explicit. Moreover, Guofeng pays more attention to the reproductive effects, while Song of Solomon focuses on physical pleasure itself.Third, the body is as a product of culture for humans. Body cannot be bound by social norms and rituals until it is in line with them. The characters in Guofeng must comply with rites of Zhou Dynasty, while the characters in Song of Solomon can not get rid of restrictions on religious law and social norms, paying more attention to morals such as loyalty and Chastity.
