Objective To investigate the the distal femur universal locking titanium plate system in the treatment of elderly patients with unstable intertrochanteric fractures . Applications from February 2007 to November 2009 the distal femur universal locking titanium plate system in the treatment of 13 cases of intertrochanteric fracture A2 A0 classification which in 5 cases , the A3 8 cases . Results 11 patients were followed up for 6 to 14 months , with an average follow - up of 10.1 months , all fractures healed , with an average healing time of 4.1 months , postoperative hip function according to the Harris hip score , an average of 91.2 ± 3.2 points , hip trauma after function score ( Sanders ) rated excellent in 11 cases , good in 2 cases , poor and failure cases , good rate of 86.6% , a case of patients in the guide pin into the locked around the nail cutting the lead to guide needle breaks . Conclusion distal femur universal locking titanium plate system has the periosteum, genetically related transport affect small anti-rotation ability , fixation , etc. , is the treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fractures better choice .
