Abstract

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology has evolved over the years , the mobile communication technology is one of the most critical . It can inhibit wireless channel inter-symbol interference (ISI) and frequency selective multipath fading , making it one of the future communication standards . In recent years , OFDM and multiple input multiple output (MIMO) technology, integration, namely MIMO - OFDM technology has been a lot of fourth generation mobile communication standard used in order to suppress fading and increase the data rate . In this paper, MATLAB simulation of the OFDM timing synchronization and there is no timing synchronization either case, performance analysis, studies are as follows : a ) simulated Gaussian white noise channel OFDM BER performance, and compared with the theoretical value . Simulation comparison, simulated values ??consistent with the theoretical values ??, but there are still some errors exist. 2 ) Simulation compare multiple phase modulation BER simulation results show that , under the same SNR conditions , BPSK BER performance is best . 3 ) by adding a cyclic prefix OFDM timing synchronization method to solve the problems . Simulation results show that as long as the maximum channel delay is less than the cyclic prefix length , timing synchronization errors caused by intersymbol interference will be greatly reduced . 4 ) used in the simulation IEEE.802.11a to overcome the short preamble carrier frequency method , the results show that using the method of adding the short preamble carrier frequency offset can be suppressed .
