Objective To investigate the vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF ) and the significance of p53 expression in gastric cancer and biological characteristics . Methods to collect 50 cases of resected specimens , all specimens embedded in paraffin , do serial sections , immunohistochemical staining of VEGF and p53 expression in gastric carcinoma . Results 1.VEGF in adjacent normal gastric mucosa , see expression (20.0%) , but the expression in gastric carcinoma was 62.0% , was statistically significant ( p lt ; 0.01 ) between the two ; VEGF in tubular adenocarcinoma and expression in poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma were 37.5% and 73.5% ; lymph node metastasis and without lymph node metastasis were 73.5% and 37.5 % , respectively , between the two were statistically significant ( p lt ; 0.05, p lt ; 0.05). 2.p53 only 1 case expression (2.0%) in the adjacent normal gastric mucosa , but expression in gastric cancer was 58.0% , a significant difference ( p lt ; 0.01 ) between the two ; p53 expression and the type of tissue and lymph node metastasis , tubular adenocarcinoma and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma in expression rates were 37.5% and 67.6% , respectively , in the lymph node metastasis was 70.6% , without metastasis 31.3% between the two were statistically significance (p lt; 0.05 p lt; 0.01); 3.VEGF and p53 expression has nothing to do with the depth of invasion . The joint detection of the expression of VEGF and p53 can be used as indicators predict the prognosis of gastric cancer and clinical basis for targeted therapy .
