Abstract
2008 Barack Obama's election as the first African American president of the United States , breaking the whites dominate the history of the presidency practice to become a major focus of world attention . Domestic and foreign research this very much , but most of the article is to analyze from a political point of Obama's election. Therefore , this article from a new perspective --- the perspective of cultural identity . In the 21st century , although Obama in the 2008 election, was elected president of the United States , unlike in the past so tough race , but African-Americans of their own cultural identity confusion still exists. In this paper, the 1980s black leader Jesse Jackson ran for president on behalf of the failure , and Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign 's success made ??a comparison , a detailed analysis of their different cultural identities , as well as different cultural identities this role . British cultural studies scholar Stuart Hall that cultural identity is both a \Cultural identity is fluid , in the context of history and the ever-changing reality . This paper further pointed out that African Americans in the 21st century should have a sense of ownership attitude towards a greater degree of acceptance of American society by African Americans and the joint efforts of the whole society , so that may eliminate racial discrimination in the United States to play an active role.
