Abstract


Since the end of World War II to the early 1970s , the United States on the development of higher education invested a great deal of resources , the United States called this period the golden age for the development of higher education , thus becoming the world 's first national popularization of higher education . This article attempts by analyzing the process and characteristics of the formation of the American higher education system in this period , in this based on the analysis of the popularization reasons for the formation and popularization of higher education 's impact on American society , and reveals the process of American higher education produce some of the problems , and strive to show the historical process of the formation of the American higher education system is more comprehensive and objective .
