Abstract


The overlap is an important grammar method in Chinese, compared to the Indo-European languages, Chinese lacks of variety of morphological changes, but it is rich in the general form of overlapping changes, so the overlap in Chinese has been an important topic in the study of grammar.This paper forms on the types of the adjective overlaps review in order to show the whole picture and characteristics of it. Overlaps in many types of up to ten, we take the double syllable adjective’s AABB type as the inspection object, mainly inspected under the new background, double syllable adjective AABB type overlap scope and quantity. According to the facts of language, with the developmental view to study the object, scope and standards of the standardization.The essay is divided into six parts and three attached lists:The first part outlines the history of the adjective overlap’s development, summarizes the double syllable adjective AABB type development.The second part, according to the description of adjective overlap’s fundamental mode and the characteristic, and deepens the understanding of the adjective overlap.The third part summarizes the grammatical function of double syllable adjective AABB type.The fourth part is statistics and analysis. First we overlapped the opinions on the issue of the two-syllable adjectives overlap for the AABB type in present teaching material, come up with several views. Then we reviewed the research related the two-syllable adjectives and AABB-type. Based on this, we utilize the large-scale corpus, carries on using the computer exhausts the type extraction and after the manual distinction way, has carried on the quota and the qualitative inspection to the double syllable adjective AABB type overlay structure’s frequency distribution.Fifth, we respectively discussed whether the double syllable adjective can overlap the AABB-type from the phonetics and morpheme. And we also cited the adjective AABB-types in dictionary.The sixth part is the conclusion.
