Abstract


With the great immigration trend occurred in the eighties last century, new immigration literature and relevant expression activities become an literature and culture phenomenon which are worth to be focused. As an important part, the North America New Immigration Literature supplied a large amount of excellent literary outputs, became an important literary force and accumulated many valuable literary expression experiences in the past several decades. However, the comprehensive research against North America New Immigration Literature did not come to expectations. And the researches carried out only limited to either introduction of the creation conditions and achievements or descriptive expressions of the superficial characteristics of such literature, without penetrating into the deep-seated texture of North America New Immigration Literature. This paper, based on the available research achievements, tried to heighten the North America New Immigration Literature to cultural poetics for analysis, and reveal its abundant cultural connotations on the intricate post-colonization background. This paper borrows relevant ideas from post-colonization culture criticism and generates literary conclusions with cultural analysis by combining literary analysis and article perusal. The discussion in this paper is from the following three aspects. Firstly, the North America New Immigration Literature truly recodes the real life expressed during the communication and collision between North America New Immigration writer and the modern society. Such literature unavoidably possesses metaphor nature during the conversion process from true life experience to aesthetics expression, and the immigration, habitation, survival predicament and the perplexity of cultural identity of new immigrant all possess symbolic significances. Secondly, North America New Immigration Literature is a typical diasporic literature. Such kind of literature, after departing from the theme of the“Nostalgia in Exile”in early period, can convert freely in the dual or multiple cultural backgrounds. The cross boundary expression of language ethnicity and automatic pursuit of world citizen, etc, all express literary topic and aesthetic experience different from native literary. Thirdly, the post-colonization writing of North America New Immigration Literature is carried out toward two dimensions. The literary works of early period possess apparent self-colonization tendency, and with the development and evolution of such literature, the post-colonization rewriting featured by contradictory narrative, serious history reflection and intensive reality appeal prompt the North America New Immigration Literature to new realm.
