Abstract

In the new century, the quality education is implemented fully; the national fitness program is developed deeply and widely; the ideology of healthy priority is carried out; the theory of lifelong physical education is proposed, so the cultivation of the physical talents is endowed with many new contents and higher requirements are proposed by the society. In the recent years, table tennis teaching profession in colleges in our country renews thoughts and changes views, and then carries out many reform attempts on the teaching model, teaching thought and teaching method and so on, which has gotten remarkable achievement.This paper is mainly on the deep analysis of the situation of the compulsory table tennis course of physical education major of the undergraduate course in Henan province, such as the situation of the teaching venue facilities, the selected textbooks, students’learning condition, teachers’situation, teaching contents, teaching methods and teaching organization forms and so on, which can reveal the problems in the teaching. The way of the investigation is comprehensive and there are many research approaches, for example, methods of literature reviews, expert interview, questionnaire method, mathematical statistics method and logic analysis method. In addition, this paper combines with the reform of the college physical education, and then proposes some strategies and suggestions for the further reform and development of the compulsory table tennis course teaching of physical education major of the undergraduate course in Henan province. The main conclusions are following:About the installation, the table tennis skill and the teachers’situations: The management system of stadium is imperfect; the college students majoring in sports education with low table tennis skill have great interest in table tennis; the teaching team with high skill is reasonably structured in education background, professional title and age; Now some colleges pay less attention to the teachers’requirement for further study.The performance of the teaching material and the teaching content: The teaching material pays much attention to the features of tactics and skills, and the practice methods are less concerned. The referee law is insufficient and the proportion of teaching content needs to be adjusted properly.About the teaching methods、the class quantity and the test: The teaching methods in Henan province are mainly normal methods, and modern methods are less applied. The dull teaching methods are to teach sports skill; the class hour of the compulsory table tennis course is not adequate and quite different; The test includes theory, skills and classroom performance, and the test of basic skill is ignored. A system about test and evaluation which adapts to physical education of tennis table needs to be set up.
