Abstract

Objective: To detect tumor suppressor genes fragile histidine triad ( FHIT) , p16 protein in oral submucous fibrous lesions (Oral Submucous Fibrosis, OSF) associated with the incidence of oral cancer tissue expression and distribution , discussed FHIT, p16 OSF cancer occurs role in the development process . Methods: Using immunohistochemistry SP method , mouse anti-human of FHIT , p16 monoclonal antibody detected 44 cases of OSF organizations the the 15 cases OSF associated with oral cancer tissues and 8 normal controls in the oral mucosa of FHIT , p16 protein expression and distribution . Results : (1) of FHIT protein expression in the cytoplasm , the few visible nucleus stained yellow . FHIT protein expression was 87.5% higher in normal oral mucosa , OSF organization high expression rate of 70.4% , there is no significant difference ( P > 0.05 ) between the two ; associated with expression of FHIT protein in normal oral mucosa and OSF high expression rates of oral cancer tissue (40.0 %) , a significant difference ( P <0.05 ) ; expression of FHIT protein expression in oral cancer tissues the OSF organization and OSF associated with a significant difference ( P <0.05 ) . (2) p16 protein expression in the nucleus and cytoplasm in normal oral mucosa high expression rate of 100.0% , in the the OSF organization 's high expression rate of 72.7% between the two , there is no significant difference ( P > 0.05 ) ; of p16 protein in normal oral mucosal tissue and OSF associated with oral cancer organizations in the high expression rate (40.0%) have significantly with difference ( P < 0.05 ) ; of p16 protein in the OSF organization and OSF associated with hair in oral cancer tissue expression have significant difference ( P <0.05 ) . ( 3 ) the expression of p16 protein in each group lesions average gray value were less than the average gray value of FHIT protein expression in each lesion tissue , and the difference was statistically significant ( P <0.05 ) . FHIT protein and p16 protein expression in different lesions show the two are related , Person correlation coefficient 0.970, P = 0.030 ( two-sided) . Conclusions : (1) of FHIT protein and p16 protein in OSF associated with oral cancer tissues downregulation and deletions likely OSF early performance during carcinogenesis . ( 2 ) of FHIT protein and p16 protein expression in the OSF its associated with oral cancer tissue was significantly positively correlated , suggesting that both may have a synergistic effect , to participate in the OSF cancerous .
