Objective: To study platelet - endothelial cell adhesion molecule (platelet-endothelial celladhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) in oral verrucous carcinoma (Oral verrucouscarcinoma, OVC) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (oral squamous cell carcinoma, OSCC) expression , OVC and OSCC investigate its role in the occurrence and development of microarray results were validated. Methods: 9 Exceptions wild type OVC , six cases of cysts / invasive oral verrucous carcinoma, 15 cases of moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, 15 cases of poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, semi-quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR ) was detected in OSCC OVC and PECAM-1 mRNA expression levels were detected by immunohistochemistry in the specimen PECAM-1 expression and distribution , to determine the difference . Results : 1, PECAM-1 in IHC experiments a, four kinds of cancer tissue PECAM-1 microvessel density (MVD) were higher than normal mucosa (P <0.05). b, oral squamous cell carcinoma , high / moderately differentiated and poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of the MVD had significant difference (P <0.05). c, exogenous verrucous carcinoma , high / moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, cyst / invasive verrucous carcinoma, poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, four groups of PECAM-1 were increased MVD (P <0.05). 2, PECAM-1 by RT-PCR experiments a, exogenous verrucous carcinoma , high / moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, cyst / invasive verrucous carcinoma, poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of the four groups of PECAM-1 mRNA expression was significantly higher than appropriate control group (P <0.05). b, High / poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of comparison: the former PECAM-1 mRNA expression level is lower than the latter, the difference was significant (P <0.05). c, exogenous verrucous carcinoma , high / moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, cyst / invasive verrucous carcinoma, poorly differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, four groups of PECAM-1 mRNA expression were increased (P <0.05). Conclusion 1.PECAM-1 may be in oral verrucous carcinoma and oral squamous cell carcinoma development plays an important role in promoting tumor angiogenesis which is the main pathogenesis. 2.PECAM-1 in oral verrucous carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma of the oral expression differences , in order to further illustrate the two different biological behavior provides a reliable basis . 3.PECAM-1 , respectively, from the RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry chemical level, illustrates the cyst / infiltrative OVC may be higher than the exogenous verrucous carcinoma and some oral squamous cell infiltration potential.
