Objective: the analysis the gastrocnemius tendon lobe VY plasty treatment of old Achilles tendon rupture surgical methods and clinical efficacy , and its associated anatomical studies to provide anatomical basis of clinical surgery and guidance . Method: 1. Our hospital from February 2003 to July 2007 with gastrocnemius tendon lobe VY angioplasty treatment of old Achilles tendon rupture in patients with a total of 13 cases , retrospective investigation of the clinical data and follow-up , and Arner-lindholm evaluation method analysis of efficacy ; 2 of the 30 patients with lower extremity specimens , both men and women , their Achilles tendon soft tissue superficial vein , sural nerve , gastrocnemius , soleus and Achilles tendon and other gross anatomy and observation , close to the average of 10 cases gastrocnemius tendon the length of the lower extremity specimens , each two cases were simulated Achilles tendon defect 3,4,5,6,7 cm VY plasty surgery . Results : All patients were followed up for 7 to 60 months , an average of 24 months . Excellent in 9 cases (69.2 %) , good in 4 cases (30.7 %) , poor grade . Excellent rate of 100% . Achilles tendon defect in the range of 3-6cm VY plasty are good , but the Achilles tendon defect 7cm, the surgery more difficult . Conclusion : For the old Achilles tendon rupture , gastrocnemius tendon flap VY plasty is a simple method , and the results were satisfactory surgical method is mainly applied to the Achilles tendon defects within 3-6cm , can be used with caution in the range of 6-7cm , more than the 7cm defects should not use this technique .
