Abstract


Reading comprehension is an important skill in foreign language learning . The high school students , reading is the main way they get information , one of the basic skills of reading comprehension they need . In addition , reading is a process of mental activity . In this process , the reader will take the initiative to their own knowledge and article information combined experience , predict , verify and confirm . In this process, the reader 's strategy will affect reading comprehension . The reader should be conscious of the process to monitor and adopt appropriate strategies to solve problems they encounter in reading . Understanding of strategy can help the reader to monitor the process of reading , metacognitive strategies and reading a strong correlation . In recent years, research metacognitive strategies become increasingly concerned with reading comprehension , of course , these studies are based on the above Flavell, O'malley, Chamot, Oxford et al . But these studies for English learning English Second Language Acquisition or usually with little attention to to study metacognitive strategies for high school students reading research . As a high school English teacher , I am eager for everyday high school English Teaching metacognitive strategies to improve students' reading ability . Therefore , my thesis will be focused on metacognitive strategies in the high school reading and trying to metacognitive strategy training to students on a day-to-day teaching . The paper attempts to answer the following questions : 1 . The what and metacognitive problems in high school English reading ? 2 . Whether metacognitive strategies to improve students' reading ability ? 3 . Which metacognitive strategies can be applied to high school English reading comprehension ? how metacognitive strategies used in high school English reading comprehension ?
