Abstract


With the deepening of the western theory of metaphor study, metaphor has from pure rhetoric study extension is hotspot of research. And in the aesthetic field to the discussion of metaphor, despite some progress, but still lack a kind of system thinking. In this paper, the basic category of metaphor from the west by the aesthetic connotation and spiritual essence of however, discuss the following three problems: one is the metaphor as a rhetoric - institute of poetics of artistic beauty; Second, specific discussion from the middle ages to the Renaissance of this period and use of metaphorical discourse in theological aesthetics under the practice of form.
