Abstract


The piano music has lasted for nearly three hundred years in the world;and it’s been in HeTao for about one hundred years as well.This thesis systematically addresses how the piano music came into HeTao and the marks on the trace of its development.This thesis also analyzes the phases of the piano music development in HeTao starting from the 19th century until now,basing on the historical background of HeTao and synthesizing the data that’s been possibly found.Meanwhile,it studies and explores the contribution of the piano music to the progression and popularization of music in entire HeTao area.In 1890s,Roman Catholicism was brought into HeTao. Along with it were some talented pianists who started the piano lessons in the churches,which provided good opportunities for many people to learn to play the piano.In 1890s Christianity started to spread in HeTao.Starting from the churches,the piano music started to gradually expand,to develop,and to enlarge to today’s scope.Unfortunately,no formal studies on the history of the piano music development in HeTao have been conducted. It will be of great significance for the future studies,as well as for the piano music development in HeTao,to understand the history realistically and to learn from the past.In order to attest the pulse of the piano music in HeTao,interviews to some well-known music educators and composers have been conducted,and some useful photos and pictures about the piano that were used in HeTao in the past have been collected for readers to understand the changes in the piano music development.This thesis addresses the topic from the following perspectives.PartⅡ- The initiative period of the piano music development in HeTao●thesis addresses the topic from the following perspectives.●The historical background till 1958●The emergence of piano in HeTao●The first application of piano in HeTaoPartⅢ- The progressive period of the piano music development in HeTao●The music education institutions from 1958 to 1991●Educators and composers and their works●Teaching facilities and curriculumPartⅣ- The formative period of piano music development●In HeTao from 1991 to 2007 ●Piano music in schools●Piano music in societyPartⅤ-Thoughts based on the studies of the piano music development in HeTao.●Analyzis of the current piano music situation:●Prospect and conception of the development about piano music in He TaoIn summary,this thesis aims to identify the trace of development and the process of piano popularization in HeTao,understand history and to respect history will encourage the pianists work harder to improve the piano music development in HeTao.
