With Shanghai’s more and more outstanding role on the world stage, especially the success of EXPO 2010, Shanghai’s cruise tourism is rapidly growing up. The huge potential of Shanghai’s cruise tourism is releasing, more and more cruise liners port Shanghai, even set area headquarter and home port at Shanghai, and develop cruise lines based on Shanghai port. Meanwhile, more and more Shanghai tourist start to note and choose cruise tourism. But due to late commence on cruise tourism, most of Shanghai tourist are lacking of cruise knowledge, the market is not so regular, resources often out of position, supply and demand are unbalanced, relevant law and regulation cannot come out in time, all the said factors may cause hidden problems to the smooth development of Shanghai cruise tourism.Based on the current status of Shanghai’s cruise economy development, this thesis mainly investigated the latest market situation. Then analyze the conditions for Shanghai’s cruise tourism by means of SWOT. Then take a questionnaire survey on cruise tourism market demand. Then arise some countermeasures and proposal based on the current supply on cruise tourism, expecting it will be of help to the further development of Shanghai’s cruise tourism.The thesis is composed with six chapters. Chapter 6, end words, prospect the prosperous future of Shanghai’s cruise economy.Due to late commence of cruise tourism, lacking of researching files, especially due to my poor knowledge on this field, the countermeasures and proposal I arose may have little profound ideas. Furthermore, because I never enjoy cruise tourism, my descriptions on the attraction, effectiveness and the blueprint of the market to be verified by the real market.
