Abstract


Financial development and economic growth at home and abroad has been studied the relationship between theoretical and empirical analysis of economists hotspot. Because researchers used different research methods and data, as well as different subjects in the field of theoretical and empirical analysis of the conclusions are not the same. This systematic review of research results at home and abroad, and on this basis, Chongqing and Shanghai, two cities during the 1997-2006 ten year financial development and economic growth in the relationship between the empirical analysis. The purpose of this article is from Shanghai and Chongqing Financial Development and Economic Growth seeking an effective development of Chongqing's economic growth path. Based on this consideration, the authors use regression models in Chongqing and Shanghai municipalities Decade 1997-2006 financial development and economic growth data for empirical analysis, by comparing the two cities between financial development and economic growth in relationships and differences, from the financial Development and Economic Growth in Chongqing to promote economic growth to draw some policy recommendations, hoping to achieve beneficial Chongqing Economic and sustained, rapid and efficient growth, President Hu Jintao put forward as soon as possible \This paper is organized: the first part of this article on the topic of practical significance to elaborate; second part of the financial development and economic growth theories literature review; reveal the third part of financial development and economic growth and financial development of the interaction mechanism constraints; fourth part of a series of indicators to measure the Shanghai and Chongqing selected financial development and economic growth, and the status of both Shanghai and Chongqing comparative analysis; fifth part of the first linear regression analysis method, Chongqing and Shanghai financial development and economic growth. the relationship between empirical research, the findings indicate that the level of the two cities and the monetization of the economy and the level of economic security was a positive correlation between economic growth, in which the level of monetization of the economy on the more obvious role in promoting economic growth, and the level of economic security for the promotion of economic growth is not obvious, the results also showed that the degree of Shanghai Economic and Monetary role in promoting the economy is stronger than the degree of Chongqing; Then the degree of monetization, respectively, and the degree of economic security and economic growth do Granger causality test results show that the two cities currency the level of economic growth Granger cause, while the level of economic security is not Granger cause of economic growth, economic growth is not the level of monetization and the level of economic security Granger cause. By comparing the two cities sixth part of financial development and economic growth situation and differences in the regression results, propose appropriate policy recommendations to promote financial development in order to better serve Chongqing in Chongqing economic growth.
