Abstract


Mao Zedong’s thought on political education was formed step by step in the course of guiding the Chinese people revolution. With the development of history, Mao’s thought and practice on political education had different contents、missions and characteristics in each stage.From 1921 to 1927 (the phase of germination), Mao was both leader and practicer of political education. He came to rural district and factory to teach workers and farmers with revolution theory, and achieved primary experience of political education. In the period of 1927 to 1937(the phase of forming), Mao developed political education actively in the course of building revolution forces, by which the basic frame of political education and theory formed with the sign of Decision of Gutian Conference. From 1937 to 1949 (the phase of maturation), Mao’s thought on political education deeply developed to systematism and perfectness. The report of Political Education in the Forces indicated that Mao Zedong political education system had established.Mao’s thought on political education is the political education theory system of CCP. Mao argued distinct explanation about the object and content of political education, and introduced important judgment that political education was the lifeline of revolution forces, the assurance of enhancing and improving the leadership of CCP, and the central phase of political contend. Mao also argued that political education was important to consolidate CCP and revolution forces, insured the right direction of politic, and improved the political level of revolution troop.Mao’s thought on political education had six specific characteristics:(1) Mao regarded the political education all along.(2)Mao claimed relating political education to real contend.(3)Mao considered the political education and ideological education supplements each other.(4) Mao indicated the objects of political education are broad.(5) Mao emphasized to combined political education and ideological education together.(6) Mao regarded to build the system and organization of political education.The practice and thought of political education, which was implemented by Mao, was an important part of the political work of CCP. Putting political education into practice improved the political level of revolution troop, which established the ideological basis of political education theory and was the important production of Marxism and Leninism in China.Mao’s thought on political education is the important Guidance of our currently political education. Firstly, it indicated that the essential task of political education is to unify the will of all CCP members, which is suitable for currently political education. Secondly, in the process of political education, Mao considered political education should be related closely to the real world. Thirdly, he argued that both ideological education and political education are important. Fourthly, he considered that political education needed both education of political theory and current affairs.
