Abstract

The effect of adding active dry yeast to the feedstuff on its growth performance, blood biochemical parameters, anti-oxidation and immune parameters was explored by selecting piglets as test animal in this study. The paper was mainly divided into the following sections.1 Effects of active dry yeast on piglet growth performanceObjective:To study the effect of active dry yeast on growth performance of weanling piglets and suckling piglets. Methods:Seventy two Duroc X Landrace X Large Yorkshire hybrid piglets were randomly divided into four groups, three experimental groups(namely high-dose group、middle dose group、low-dose group)and a control group, among which high-dose group was fed the originally basal diet with which 1500g/T active dry yeast was supplemented, middle dose group fed similar diet supplemented with 1000g/T active dry yeast, low-dose group fed supplemented diet with 700g/T active dry yeast;the control group was fed the original basal diet. And also nursing sows were fed the diet to which active dry yeast was add 1000g/T in order to study the effect of active dry yeast on piglet growth performance by recording piglet diarrhea ratio, average daily weight gain and calculating feed conversion rate, etc. Results:Adding active dry yeast to the diet can increase average daily gain and reduce feed-meat ratio of weaned piglets and significantly control the occurrence of piglet diarrhea, and compared with that of the blank control group the difference of the feed conversion rate and diarrhea rate between middle dose group (1000g/T) and the control was significant(P<0.05); and at the same time, adding the active dry yeast 1000g/T to the sow’s feed can reduce the piglet diarrhea ratio and increase piglet daily weight gain and the difference was significant (P<0.05).Conclusion:The production performance of piglets both had been significantly improved by adding a certain amount of active dry yeast either to weanling piglets or to suckling piglets.2 Effects of active dry yeast on the blood biochemical indices of pigletsObjective:To study the effect of active dry yeast on blood biochemical parameters and anti-oxidation index of weanling pigs. Methods:Seventy two Duroc X Landrace X Large Yorkshire hybrid piglets were randomly divided into four groups, among which high-dose group was fed the originally basal diet with which 1500g/T active dry yeast was supplemented, middle dose group fed similar diet supplemented with 1000g/T active dry yeast, low-dose group fed supplemented diet with 700g/T active dry yeast;the control group was fed the original basal diet. Blood samples were taken from the groups till the 24th day of the test for determining ALT、AST、LDH、MDA、SOD activity in serum and serum total protein content, among which each group were randomly taken three. Results:The middle dose group which can significantly improve the piglet’s blood biochemical parameters was the optimal group. Conclusion:Adding a certain amount of active dry yeast to weaned piglet diets had a certain degree of improvemental effect on blood biochemical indices and anti-oxidation function of the piglets.3 Effects of active dry yeast on T lymphocytes of pigletsObjective:To study the effect of active dry yeast on the number of T lymphocytes in weanling pigs. Methods:Seventy two Duroc X Landrace X Large Yorkshire hybrid piglets were randomly divided into four groups, among which high-dose group was fed the originally basal diet with which 1500g/T active dry yeast was supplemented, middle dose group fed similar diet supplemented with 1000g/T active dry yeast, low-dose group fed supplemented diet with 700g/T active dry yeast;the control group was fed the original basal diet. Blood samples were taken from the groups for smear staining, microscopic examination and counting, among which each group were randomly taken three. Results:The number of ANAE-positive lymphocytes in the middle dose group was significantly increased(P<0.01) compared with the control group, while the difference was not significant (P>0.05) among the number of ANAE-positive lymphocytes in high-dose adding group and low-dose adding group compared with the control group. Conclusion:Adding a certain.amount of active dry yeast to weaned piglet diets can significantly-improve the immune function of piglets.
