Abstract


Background: Allergic rhinitis , chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps are the nose common chronic inflammatory disease , its pathogenesis has been the focus of basic and clinical research , but has still not very clear . Past studies have demonstrated the imbalance of helper T cell subsets and Th1/Th2 cytokine expression imbalance may play an important role in the pathogenesis of these diseases , but the pro-inflammatory cells play a role in the initial stage of development of inflammation cytokines such as IL-2, IL-6 and so the lack of sufficient attention. Objective : To explore the differences and their significance allergic rhinitis and chronic sinusitis , nasal polyps in patients with IL - 2 and IL -6 levels . Methods: detected by the BDTM flow cytometry allergic rhinitis ( 63 cases ) , chronic sinusitis ( 56 cases ) and nasal polyps ( 58 cases ) serum IL - 2 and IL-6 levels , and with healthy controls (57 the results of the Example) for statistical comparisons . Results: three case group ( allergic rhinitis , chronic sinusitis , nasal polyps) and healthy control group overall compared serum IL-2 and IL-6 levels , the difference was statistically significant ( P = 0.001 ) . Further pairwise comparisons between groups of serum IL-2 and IL-6 levels , results showed : ① chronic sinusitis , nasal polyps group were significantly higher than the healthy control group , the difference was statistically significant ( P <0.01 ) ; 2 group of chronic sinusitis , nasal polyps group were significantly higher than the allergic rhinitis group , the difference was statistically significant ( P <0.05 ) ; ③ allergic rhinitis group and the healthy control group , the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05 ) ; ④ chronic sinusitis group with the nasal polyps group comparison, the difference was not statistically significant ( P > 0.05 ) . In addition , serum IL-2 and IL-6 levels related analysis : allergic rhinitis group was positively correlated , but the correlation weak ( rs = 0.308 , P = 0.021 ) ; other groups showed no correlation (P > 0.05 ) . Conclusion: The proinflammatory cytokines IL-2 and IL-6 in the development of chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps may play a certain role . Different mechanism of allergic and non- allergic inflammation in the nasal inflammatory response disease , needs further study .
