Abstract


Yasunari Kawabata was a Japanese short story and novelist who won him the Nobel Prize for Literature.During the April and the September in 1941, Yasunari Kawabata has been visited "Manchuria" area for twice. This experience of Yasunari Kawabata had mentioned in his personal essays and correspondence, which have been recorded in the Complete Works of Kawabata Yasunari. But Japanese scholars almost avoid make reference to this on this fact that "Manchuria" visit of Kawabata Yasunari.This reaseach focuses on the "Manchuria" visit of Kawabata Yasunari. According to newspaper reports at that time, it is obvious for us to know that the schedule and other facts, even some details about this "Manchuria" visit of Yasunari Kawabata. Meanwhile, based on Yasunari Kawabata’s own correspondence as well as essays, and some relevant experience related to the memory of newspapers, magazines, report, analyzes Yasunari Kawabata’s attitude, speech, action of this "Manchuria" visit, and make an understanding of exotic experiences during the war.This thesis use philology and textual research methods among Yasunari Kawabata personal essays and correspondence, and some relevant experience related to the memory of newspapers, magazines, report, in order to clear "Manchuria" visit of Yasunari Kawabata in 1941.This classification and generalization will become one of ideological basis of Yasunari Kawabata after further study.This paper consists of the following five parts:Preamble:the main motivation of this reaseachChapterⅠ:previous study of Kawabata YasunariChapterⅡ:Kawabata Yasunari’s "Manchuria" visitChapterⅢ:summary and classification of Kawabata Yasunari’s "Manchuria" visitConclusion:explain the fact of Kawabata Yasunari’s "Manchuria" visit
