Discharge structures generally have three-dimensional flow characteristics and turbulent nature , for the most common discharge structure - spillway also has a free surface . In this paper, spillway research status and developments were comprehensively Retrospect and Prospect. Currently, numerical simulation technology has become a research on Hydraulic Characteristics of the important means. However, the numerical simulation of multi-use spillway two different mathematical models of the spillway section and that the flow of pressure to solve separate segments or only part of solving , the ability to problem solve engineering time is not strong enough . This article from the NS equation , using the k-ε turbulence model , with the free surface VOF approach , using the geometric reconstruction format to generate the free surface , the boundary of the complex unstructured hybrid mesh processing, a 3D spillway with pressure segment and that the flow segment coupling solution flow model . Through the engineering model test instances , has been fully test data , and further the works of spillway section and that the flow of pressurized section of turbulent flow field numerical simulation , has been discharging capacity , velocity field , pressure, turbulence and turbulent kinetic energy dissipation rate of distribution of numerical simulation and comparative analysis of the test results indicate that good agreement . Three-dimensional turbulence created by numerical model can accurately simulate three-dimensional flow spillway , spillway for different slots and different anti- access door style arc completed a series of calculations for the spillway is designed to provide a reliable basis for analysis .
