Abstract


This text classifies the irony art form on the basis that the irony concept is combed. With Wayne C. Booth’s novel rhetoric and James Phelan’s narrative rhetoric in order to consult,The text probes into irony narrative in term of narrative as rhetoric.Here "rhetoric" is different from the traditional figures of speech,It refers to the rhetoric relation among the author、 narrator and audience.Irony narrative forms the result of denying and mocking in reading through narration skills of the author.And it becomes the strong tools to transmit different knowledge、 emotion and value.The concrete process of irony narrative goes on through author controlling、 audience reacting and text appearing.
