Abstract


The Epic of King Gesar is an encyclopedia for studying the politics, Culture, and Economics of Tibetan society, It also illustrates most of Tibetan traditional culture. The custom of share distribution is like a thread crosses all through the Epic. Learning Tibetan styled share distribution is an important data to study more about Tibetan culture and history.This paper is composed with five chapters excluding the quotation and the conclusion. The first chapter talks about the definition of share distribution, and it is initially from the ancient life process.The great Tibetan emperor king songdzan Gampo did many great deeds in his life time, and these remarkable deeds had very strong influences on Tibetan culture. The sixth century is an epoch-making time for the extenciton and existence of the tradition of share distribution. Especially it is started from the good tradition of unite, and the manner of loving helping other beings, meanwhile, it was proved both with theory and evidence that this tradition is extended from the thoughts Tibetan Buddhism.In the second chapter, it talks about the affects of cease of share distribution custom, and the function of this promoting this tradition. The cease of share distribution caused a lot of problems such as the increased conflict between the king and his ministers, among relatives, brothers and sisters; on the other hand, the tradition of share distribution decreased the gap between the rich and the poor, made peace for everybody.
