Abstract


In both English and Chinese there are a lot of polysemy, lexical polysemy is the most common and most important semantic phenomenon. Past, people mostly from the traditional linguistics to study and explore the lexical ambiguity of the problem, more attention to the ambiguity arising from external causes and polysemy and the same amount to sound different meaning of the word relationship, and not sure Polysemy Full and nature. Since the late 1980s, after the formal establishment of cognitive linguistics, lexical polysemy has become the focus of their research. Some scholars have lexical polysemy been discussed, if studies focus on polysemy meaning systems division (Dechun, 2002), some studies on individual words (Lakoff, 1987; Rakova, 2004). This course will help improve people's understanding of polysemy, but from the perspective of cognitive linguistics, systematic study of polysemy internal semantic relationships to explain the nature of development and characteristics of semantic study also rare. This paper mainly wood-based theory of cognitive linguistics was constructed based on the analysis and interpretation of lexical ambiguity theoretical framework, and in the framework of this theory, under the guidance of vocabulary ambiguity of the nature and characteristics of the system are discussed and analysis, to investigate the phenomenon of lexical polysemy cognitive characteristics. Text is divided into four parts. The first part is an overview. First introduced the purpose and significance of this study.
