Abstract


English teaching in China , has long been influenced by structuralist view of language , did not give adequate attention to pragmatic Pragmatic Failure simply attributed to the lack of knowledge of the language . So many English learners can not express their intentions appropriately depending on the context , can not accurately understand each other's discourse meaning resulting Pragmatic Failure . Pragmatic dangers of mistakes that cause misunderstanding between the operation of native speakers and foreign language learners to be destroyed so that the original smooth communication and harmonious interpersonal relationships become strained . Therefore, in order to enable learners to successfully cross- cultural communication , English teachers should be aware of all sorts of possible Chinese students in cross-cultural communication language mistakes in teaching students of Pragmatic Competence . In order to understand the students 'pragmatic ability to analyze the weaknesses in their English learning , and to determine what they need help, starting from the point of view of develop students' communicative competence and pragmatic competence of Guangdong Medical College, 341 non - English major undergraduate the students' English ability to carry out the investigation . The results show that , Pragmatic Competence students are not automatically With the improvement of language skills improve, students Pragmatic Competence , college English teaching is to be improved . This paper not only analyzes all sorts of possible Chinese students in cross-cultural communication Pragmatic Failure from teaching , subjective attitude and culture migration three aspects of Pragmatic Failure may result . The causes for these language mistakes in English teaching to improve teaching methods and methods to enrich the teaching content to train Chinese students in the language with the ability to put forward some suggestions and methods .
