Abstract

With the application of linguistics and cognitive psychology of development, learning styles and learning strategies and achieved fruitful results. West applied linguists and psychologists in learning strategies research has made great progress, including research results good learner (Rubin 1975; Naiman et al. 1978), compared with good results and poor performance learners (Reiss 1983; Huang Van Naersson 1985; Mangubhai 1991), as well as research and learning strategy use between Second Language Achievement (Bialystok 1981; Huang Vann Naersson 1985; Politzer McGroarty 1985; Wen 1996). Learning Styles study also gone through three stages: 50-60 years, scholars have proposed a \Various theories have emerged; 90 years later, the study findings and patterns are applied to teaching, especially in the second language learning and adult education, we are now in the third phase. Domestic scholars in the learning strategy research has made great achievements (Huang Xiaohua Van Naersson 1985; Wen Akiyoshido 1995,1996; Jiang Zukang 1994; Wu Xia Wang Qiang 1998; Qin Xiaoqing 1998), however, only a small number of scholars to study Chinese students' learning styles (I heart music 1997; Huang Ying, 2000). This study has three objectives. The first purpose is to explore and demonstrate the theoretical learning styles and learning strategies relations from the perspective of learning styles and learning strategies to provide empirical data. Although scholars learning styles and learning strategies in both research results in both, but few studies related to the relationship between the two. Reid (1999:302) asked if \Oxford (1989:235) noted that \From the perspective of learning style learning strategy to study the necessity of a first object of this study is to explore the relationships between them theoretical and empirical data provided. The second purpose of this study is to confirm and second language learning strategies and learning styles and achievement scores between second language. Many scholars have come to the conclusion in these areas (Bialystok 1981; Huang Vann Naersson 1985; Wen 1996; Politzer McGroarty 1985; Reid 1987), but their conclusions are inconsistent, two individual differences in language acquisition research is still not comprehensive and widely accepted theory (Skehan 1991). Therefore, this study confirmed that vocational students as the object of their relationship for individual differences research provides empirical data. Third purpose of this study is to study vocational students' learning styles and learning strategies situation. Although domestic scholars have conducted a series of studies, but they are the object of study are mostly non-English major undergraduate English majors, and less related to vocational students, they both belong to the scope of the University but also with undergraduate students do not same. Stern (1983:412) calls for further research, \Therefore, this study for vocational students, studying their learning styles and learning strategies characteristics, so that teachers can be used in line with vocational students learning styles and strategies of teaching methods that promote vocational teaching.
